Company History & Journey of Growth and Innovation

Since the establishment of Alghazala Paints, the company has continued its journey of growth and development, driven by experience and a commitment to quality and innovation, becoming today one of the prominent names in Libya’s paint industry and a source of pride for Libyan industry.

2002 — The Beginning
The company was established and opened its first headquarters on Saadoun Al-Swaihli Street in Misrata.

2005 — Industrial Expansion
The company moved to its new headquarters in the First Industrial Zone, covering an area of 13,000 m², and established production lines for oil-based, water-based, and spray paints.

2006 — Quality & Workforce
Obtained the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2008 quality certification, while expanding the team of chemical engineers and developing Libyan talent.

2008 — Export Begins
Alghazala began exporting its products to international markets, with Algeria being its first destination.

2009 — Wood Paint Manufacturing
Established a specialized production line for high-quality wood oils and paints.

2012 — Storage System Development
Added modern warehouses built to international standards, enhancing storage efficiency and safety.

2016 — Insulation Products
Launched an integrated production line for water-based and oil-based bitumen waterproofing products, along with the expansion of the administrative building.

2017 — New Industrial Expansion
Opened an integrated plant for manufacturing petroleum insulation products (tar) in cooperation with the Italian company Hero, and equipped the plant with 12 modern machines to expand its color options.

2018 — Advanced Tinting System
Upgraded mixing and tinting equipment in cooperation with a leading Italian company, supplying 40 modern tinting machines covering a system of more than 1,200 colors.

2020 — Automation & Production
Installed two automated production lines for spray paints, with a capacity of up to 10,000 cans in 12 hours.

2021 — Laboratory & Modern Technologies
Imported production lines for water-based and oil-based paints from IS of Italy and De Fry of Belgium, and established a fully equipped digital laboratory for chemical and practical testing.

2022 — Expanding into African Markets
Upgraded production lines with automated systems and high-speed robotics, opened the first sales showroom in Benghazi, and expanded into African markets.
